Making an Appointment

The Therapy Process
Your therapy journey can be designed to meet your own unique needs and circumstances. We will engage in a carefully planned process, sensitive to your concerns and preferences. Each step is guided by you, as we move together towards your healing and growth.
Session days and times can be spaced to fit in with both your concerns and lifestyle commitments, and so can be held weekly, fortnightly or even monthly. Some after - hours appointment times may be available at times. Please discuss your individual requirements at our initial consultation.
Therapy is offered both as a private practice, and also with a Mental Health Care Plan under the Medicare ‘Better Access’ Program, explained below. Attending privately offers you maximum flexibility with your therapy process, while a Mental Health Plan offers the benefits of a Medicare Rebate. Please select the approach that best suits your needs.
How to access a Mental Health Care Plan
We are registered providers of Mental Health Services with Medicare.
This means that if your GP considers it appropriate to prepare you a Mental Health Care Plan, you will be able to receive up to ten (10) therapy sessions per calendar year which attract a Medicare Rebate. Attending a Group Program can also attract a Medicare Rebate.
You will need to book an appointment with your GP for a Mental Health Assessment. Do be sure to let Reception know this when you ring for an appointment.
A Mental Health Assessment is a short report on your personal mental health issues and concerns. You will need to bring it to your first therapy session, and this will form the basis for further discussion and therapy planning with your therapist.
After your first six sessions, your therapist may recommend that you re-visit your GP for a review of your Mental Health Plan. Your GP may then recommend that you receive a further four therapy sessions with the Medicare Rebate.
Rebates and Fees
The Medicare Rebate will partially cover the fee for your therapy session. There will also be a ‘gap payment’ required in order to fully cover the cost of your session. Holders of Commonwealth Government Concession Cards can request a reduction of the gap payment.
Payment in full is made on the day of the therapy session, and rebates will be electronically calculated at reception. Concessions cards must be sighted in order for you to receive the reduction in the gap payment. Please raise any financial questions with Kaye at your initial free telephone consultation.
