Wellbeing Groups

Group programs offer the opportunity for you to benefit  from learning new skills and sharing personal experiences in a warm, dynamic and enjoyable small group environment.

Groups run weekly for ten weeks, and cover a variety of highly relevant issues and skills. Groups are limited in size and are strictly confidential.

Mindfulness Practice Group

 Mindfulness can be described as awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, with compassion and open-hearted curiosity.

Mindfulness has been shown to have many benefits including assisting to:

regulate emotions, reduce fear and anxiety, boost the immune system,  manage worry and troubling thoughts, reduce depression and improve mood, improve productivity, increase mental clarity, increase self –acceptance and generate a sense of satisfaction and inner peace.

 

Therapeutic issues and skills which will be covered include:

  • Identifying individual sources of stress and tension
  • Distinguishing between pain and suffering
  • Observing and describing experience non-judgementally
  • Embracing all of life’s circumstances
  • Participating in the moment
  • Breathing and moving mindfully
  • Incorporating mindfulness practice into daily living

 

Interpersonal Skills Training Group

 Learning new interpersonal skills has been found to greatly enhance the therapeutic process. This group  covers both the knowledge and practice of life- enhancing skills applicable to all important family, community and workplace relationships. The group offers a safe and supportive environment in which to discuss new information and practice new life- enhancing skills.

  • Negotiating  skills
  • Building collaboration
